192 MILLIONS OF TOURISTS A YEAR USE THE BUS IN SPAIN

25 Oct 2018

CONFEBUS has wanted to highlight the importance of the bus on World Tourism Day. “Although the majority of tourists enter our country by plane, internal displacements are made by road and it is at this point that an actor that contributes to the Spanish tourist sector occupies world leadership: the bus” explained Rafael Barbadillo, president of the confederation.

CONFEBUS also standed out that “Spain has the most modern bus fleet in Europe”, although they also claimed for “improvements in infrastructure and a greater commitment to intermodality as a way to improve the service”.
In spite of everything, CONFEBUS warns that “60% of the companies dedicated to this sector declare not having perceived the improvement experienced by the tourism sector”. “These data should lead to reflection, the transport of tourists is a clear opportunity for the sector that can not miss,” claimed Barbadillo. The president of CONFEBUS therefore, asked “a reflection on the habits of new tourists in order to adapt the offer to them and find the business niche.”
